Assuming its responsibility for the cultural heritage that it protects, the BNM has decided to implement preservation policies in order to guarantee its long- term access.
Material nature is inherent in the concept of cultural heritage. Losing parts or whole documents implies losing the information carried by them.
In order to achieve an effective preservation of its collections, the BNM organizes activities that implement technical and scientific procedures as well as management methods about collections development and valuation (HEA Project), reprography and conservation.
